Aulas, the warning to Textor

Honored for the last time by everyone at a stadium on Saturday evening, on the sidelines of Lyon-Reims (3-0, 37th day of L1), Jean-Michel Aulas issued a warning to his successor, John Textor.

On May 5, just over five months after signing the Olympique Lyonnais sale agreement with John Textor, Jean-Michel Aulas was dismissed from his position as president, which he was to occupy for three years, according to the terms of the original contract. A sudden benching which was very badly experienced by the strong man of the Rhone club for thirty-six years. Jean-Michel Aulas received a vibrant tribute to him from Lyon supporters on Saturday evening, on the sidelines of the match of the 37th day of Ligue 1 won by OL against Reims (3-0). A tribute that did not prevent the seventy-four-year-old man from sending a message to John Textor.

A message in the form of a pressure shot to his successor. On social networks, Jean-Michel Aulas therefore spoke of his « legacy » and what should be done with it.  » My legacy will be borne by no other testament than that of the history of this club which is more than a club, more than an institution, more than just a business. To those who will succeed me, we entrust them with a heritage of French (Site notre bureau spécialisé), which will commit them. A warning that John Textor will probably have received.

“Unparalleled level of excellence”

A little later in the evening, J.-MA returned to his keyboard to add a few additional words to emphasize the work carried out over more than 3 decades.  » … a heritage that has shown the way to virtuous development, provided UEFA points, propelled women’s (Site notre bureau spécialisé) to an unparalleled level of excellence, invested in training the best of the French national team, recruited players of L1 to enhance it… It is up to his successors to continue to build on this heritage.
