On Saturday the eighth edition of the « Amateur Finals Day » will take place, in which the finals of the state cup competitions will take place all over Germany. Many winners can not only hope for the title, but also a place in the first round of the DFB Cup, which will take place from August 11 to 14.

This is used to determine the respective participants of the state associations for the DFB Cup, the three biggest associations of Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia are even allowed to field two teams. On June 18, these clubs are hoping for an attractive draw in the draw for the first round of the DFB Cup.

The special thing about this year: since VfL Osnabrück, 1. FC Saarbrücken and SV Elversberg have already secured their participation in the DFB Cup by finishing in the 3rd division, two state association tickets have already been awarded. In Lower Saxony, the beneficiary is Atlas Delmenhorst. In Saarland on May 30 there was a decisive match between the defeated semi-finalists, in which FC 08 Homburg won 4-1 against SV Auersmacher.

Tickets for the other three participants from Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia have also already been booked. In Bavaria, regional league champions SpVgg Unterhaching qualified for the DFB Cup. In Westphalia, the best Westphalian team in the West Regional League, i.e. the champions Preußen Münster, can also participate in the first round. In Lower Saxony, the place goes to the winner of the state cup for amateurs (5th league and lower). On May 29, TuS Bersenbrück clearly won the final 3-0 against SC Spelle-Venhaus.
