If all the rumors were true: Here’s how BVB would play next season

At BVB, after narrowly missing out on the championship, the question is how to improve the weaknesses in the squad and compensate for the departure of Jude Bellingham. Therefore, there are rumors about the transfer planning, which sometimes seem more and sometimes less absurd.

What would the list look like if all of them – even the most outlandish ones – were true? Have fun with this starting XI!

Aim

Andriy Lunin: Admittedly, that’s not particularly realistic, but recently it was reported that Gregor Kobel was angered by BVB’s hesitant behavior towards a contract extension. According to ‘Der Westen’, the young Ukrainian should be on the list of alternatives, just in case.

defense

Ivan Fresneda: According to ‘WAZ’, he is now BVB’s absolute dream candidate for the second transfer window in a row. The promising young Spaniard has already made 22 La Liga appearances at just 18 years old. At BVB, he could fill the weak spot in the outside defence. However, it remains to be seen if that would be enough in the first season to compete for the spot between Ryerson and Wolf.

Edson Alvarez: He could also get a new neighbor for that. The defensive all-rounder, who can also be used in defensive midfield, is said to come from Ajax Amsterdam for around 45 million. However, the Mexican’s move currently looks rather unlikely. According to information from ‘Kicker’, Álvarez is too expensive for Borussia.

Nico Schlotterbeck: In national team attire, this is often an element of uncertainty, as the young German was able to use his potential more often at BVB and also exuded a certain goal threat. Süle and Schlotterbeck are battling for the spot next to Álvarez in our rumored XI.

Ramy Bensebaini: Given that the defense probably cost Dortmund the championship, it’s no surprise that BVB are modernizing here. With Ramy Bensebaini from Gladbach, BVB have already signed a player who should bring more stability to the left side of the defence.

Midfielder

Maxence Caqueret: He is currently with the U21s of France at the European Junior Championships. According to ‘(Site notre blog d’information) Mercato’, the Frenchman is on BVB’s wishlist and one of the candidates to succeed Jude Bellingham. At 25m, however, the Frenchman wouldn’t be a cheap catch.

Felix Nmecha: Arguably the most controversial name on this list. The transfer of the German national player should be done in the home stretch. According to ‘Ruhr Nachrichten’, BVB officials want up to €30m on the table for the VfL Wolfsburg midfielder. Some Dortmund fans don’t like to see this at all. After all, the professional recently got noticed by sharing transphobic and homophobic content.

Conor Gallagher: Certainly, our midfielder is quite attacking. Still, Conor Gallagher shouldn’t be missing in this XI. Rumors have been circulating about the 23-year-old Chelsea youth player for several weeks. He could become Dortmund’s new record purchase. According to the ‘Daily Mail’, Dortmund have asked, but Chelsea are demanding up to €60m for the Englishman.

Storm

Jadon Sancho: The prodigal son could return and, if the ‘Bild’ rumors were true, replace Karim Adeyemi, who has moved to Madrid. According to ‘Teamtalk’, after two ill-fated years at Manchester, a return to welfare club Borussia Dortmund is on the cards. But that’s probably only for certain video game careers.

Sebastien Haller: Of course, the man of the second part of the season cannot miss in this eleven. The center of the storm is and remains in the hands of Haller.

Painting Donyell: According to ‘kicker’, the best winger of the second half of the season will stay with BVB after his burst of performance in the second half and go on a goal hunt with Haller and Adeyemi, whose transfer to Real we then reject as a been doldrums.
