Deschamps did not like

After the 0-3 victory of the Blues in Gibraltar on Friday evening, Didier Deschamps lamented the lack of efficiency in front of the goal of his men.

Without shining and without trembling, the French team won in front of Gibraltar (0-3), Friday evening in Faro, as part of the qualifiers for Euro 2024, thanks to the achievements of Olivier Giroud, Kylian Mbappé on penalty and at the csc of Mouelhi. A score that could have been much heavier if the Blues had been sharper in front of goal (31 shots in total). A lack of efficiency deplored by Didier Deschamps in a post-match press conference.

“The objective was to win and do the job but we should have scored more goals even if the goalkeeper in front made good saves, thus declared “DD”. We can always do better with more speed but the terrain did not favor us. Gibraltar did what it knows how to do and what it had done against Greece and the Netherlands (3-0 defeats, editor’s note) by being grouped and defending well. We created a lot of chances. With better efficiency, the score would have been wider. I’m going to be satisfied with what we’ve done and I’m going to think about Monday (against Greece, editor’s note) which will be an important match. »

Before going on vacation, Antoine Griezmann and his partners will welcome Greece to the Stade de France on Monday evening, aiming to chain a fourth success in a row in these qualifiers for Euro 2024. As a reminder, during the previous gathering, the Blues had dominated the Netherlands (4-0) and Ireland (0-1).
