Besiktas JK won the Turkish Cup final and won the cup for the eleventh time in the club’s history. At the Atatürk Olimpiyat, interim coach Serdar Topraktepe’s team won 3-2 (1-1) against Trabzonspor on Thursday evening. Al-Musrati scored the famous winner from distance in the fourth minute of added time after a weak clearance attempt by Trabzon.

The Istanbul team had already made up the initial deficit thanks to Paul Onuachu in the 13th minute with goals from Rachid Ghezzal (penalty; 45th +3) and Salih Uçan (54th). Nicolas Pépé equalized for Trabzon shortly before the end of regulation time (89th), before Al-Musrati struck again for the Black Eagles.

In the Süper Lig, nine-time cup winner Trabzonspor have now left Besiktas behind. Behind the championship leader Galatasaray (99 points) and its pursuer Fenerbahce (96), the team of coach Abdullah Avcı is practically the “best of the rest” with 66 points. Besiktas follows in fifth place with 56 points and can mathematically overtake city rival Basaksehir (58) on the final day of the weekend.
