The return is getting closer
After speculation about Lars Stindl’s possible return to Karlsruher SC accelerated at the end of last year, KSC chief executive Oliver Kreuzer has now confirmed he is in contact with the 34-year-old about a possible transfer this summer. The midfielder’s contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach expires at the end of the season, Stindl would be available for his former club on a free transfer.

While a contract extension in the Bas-Rhin region has long been under discussion, according to media outlets – including « Bild » – the eleven-time national player has been reaching out to KSC in recent weeks and months. At his parent club, Stindl made the leap to professionalism in 2007 and played a total of 59 competitive games for Baden, in which he scored 22 goals. A return to his former home should be a challenge for him, especially for family reasons.
