FC Schalke 04 is facing the biggest transfer blow of this winter so far: Edin Džeko has given a verbal commitment to the Royal Blues, according to consistent media reports. An agreement has now also been reached with AC Fiorentina. According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio and the “WAZ”, Džeko will land in Germany on Wednesday in order to complete the medical examination with the Royal Blues on Thursday.

Previously, Paris FC had long been in the race for the experienced striker. The French also reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Džeko, but the 39-year-old ultimately chose Schalke.
