FC Bayern also sold Noussair Mazraoui to Manchester United. Immediately after the English announced the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt (in the news), there was also the official announcement of the signing of the Moroccan, who costs 15 million euros plus possibly 5 million in bonuses. The right-back signed a contract in Manchester until 2028 with an option for a further year and is reunited with his former coach Erik ten Hag.

Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Mazraoui joined FC Bayern from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer and made 55 appearances for the club. He failed to become a permanent regular, partly due to injuries. In addition, de Ligt’s transfer was completed, bringing a transfer fee of €45 million plus a possible €5 million in bonuses. From the two sales, FC Bayern earned at least €60 million, giving them more room to maneuver in the transfer market.

« It’s an incredible feeling to be a Manchester United player and I can’t wait to pull on the red shirt at Old Trafford. I know I’m joining the club at an exciting time. Everyone I’ve spoken to has the same ambition for us to win trophies together and I feel the determination to make that happen, » Mazraoui said in a club statement.
