L1: Rennes 1-0 Le Havre (finished) – Football

At the end of a spectacular match, Rennes won three points against Le Havre (1-0) and champion. The Rennais finally regain the taste of victory after four unsuccessful matches.

The first act totally dominated by the Rennais. Julien Stphan’s players spent 45 minutes in the Le Havre team’s half of the pitch to defend and operate on counter-attacks. This visitors’ strategy could have worked if the Normans had been more technically correct in Mandanda’s approach to goalkeeping. This is not the case, the image of both controls is inside the surface.

During this first priority, the HAC is especially not illustrated for its solidity behind. Because, despite their great domination, the Rennes were ultimately not very dangerous on Desmas’ goal. The goalkeeper had very few feasible interventions, apart from strikes from Blas and Jota. For the rest, the Rouge et Noir have but on the Norman defense and multiply the corners without ever succeeding in concretizing their domination.

Rennes finally found the fault ten minutes after returning from the locker room in the second half. Very discreet until then, Gomez gave Rennes the advantage with a curling shot from the left (1-0, 55th). But it is possible to achieve a good moment, Julien Sthan’s team having increased the pace after half-time. But it didn’t last long since the pace dropped after this opening score. This success was too precious to see the Bretons take more risks, especially since the Le Havre did not really show that they were capable of equalizing, and ended the match ten after the expulsion of Opri for protest. . . An insufficient success to satisfy the crowd at Roazhon Park who let out whistles at the final whistle.
