Hertha BSC has extended the contracts with sports director Benjamin Weber and head of the licensing department Andreas Neuendorf. The Berlin second division team announced this on Thursday. The working documents, which initially expired this summer, are now valid until 2027.

“Benny and Zecke took over the sports management during an extremely difficult phase. Benny and Zecke did a very good job in difficult conditions. From this complex situation, with incredible energy and attention to detail, they created a team that Hertha players can identify with,” said general manager Thomas E. Herrich.

He also added: “This is particularly due to the contract extensions of various local players and their integration into the professional team. Benny and Zecke are doing an outstanding job here and showing our young players in particular a perspective that is unprecedented in the recent history of Hertha BSC and which is reflected in the minutes played. We are therefore happy to continue our good and trusting cooperation.

Weber and Neuendorf have held their positions since the end of January 2023. Previously, they worked for many years for the association in other capacities. Neuendorf played a total of 196 times for Hertha as an active player. Weber has been primarily responsible for the team change since relegation from the Bundesliga in the summer of last year. Hertha is the second most valuable team (51.4 million) in the lower house, but is seventh in the standings.
