SC Weiche Flensburg 08 presented an important new recruit, Marian Sarr. The former BVB professional strengthens the defensive center of the regional league team, where Torben Rehfeldt (31) is absent for a long period due to torn cruciate ligaments. The 29-year-old has been active for Luxembourg first division club Union Titus Petingen (58 games/four goals) over the past two seasons and has been without a club since the summer.

“I’m happy he chose us. The fact that a player of his class is joining us also shows that we could not have done much wrong in Flensburg, » said Harald Uhr, general director of finance. Sports director Dominique Natusch added: « Marian Sarr will certainly make us even stronger. He is an important recruit from whom we expect a lot from a sporting point of view. We also had a very good impression from our conversations with him.

Sarr joined Borussia Dortmund through the youth ranks of Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen in 2013 and made the jump to the Bundesliga, where he made two appearances but was mostly on the ball for the third division side of the BVB. Injuries prevented the former DFB junior from breaking through. In 2016, Sarr left the Black and Yellow, who had once paid a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros, for second team VfL Wolfsburg.
