Cercle de Bruges has parted ways with coach Miron Muslic. The 42-year-old Austrian has been in charge of the Belgian first division club since September 2022, when his compatriot’s assistant Dominik Thalhammer was promoted to head coach. Under his leadership, Brugge finished the past season in fourth place and thus qualified for the Europa League, from where they were subsequently relegated to the Conference League.
Updated December 10 at 4:14 p.m.: It is now clear who his successor will be: Austrian Ferdinand Feldhofer, 45, arrives from Dinamo Tbilisi of the Georgian Premier League with immediate effect and will receive a contract until the end of the season. There is also an option for another season. “During our discussions, it immediately became clear that we had the same ideas about (Site notre bureau spécialisé) and the style of play. I completely agree with the philosophy of the Circle and I am convinced of the quality of the players,” said Feldhofer said.
Assistant coach Jimmy De Wulf initially took over on an interim basis. Paris Brunner, born in Dortmund and former BVB talent, has been on loan to Cercle Bruges since the summer. The 18-year-old has signed in France with AS Monaco until 2028 and has been temporarily transferred to partner club Cercle. So far, things have not gone well for the 2023 U17 World and European champion: Brunner has played 371 minutes in ten competitive matches and has not scored a single goal.
Le Cercle also has a modest record for the current season, the club being in penultimate place after 17 days.
