New season and new coaches for the Espéraza Sports Association (ASE). Interview with Samuel Folch, player and new president.
What is the change in your way of arriving at the club?
My friend Thierry Carrara is about to retire as President of ASE and he will be with him as a pilot: No other part of the family and no other job in D2 with two teams and more than 70 licenses. For my part, it does not change much in my initial vision: try to be exemplary on and off the field and give the maximum for the friends in each match.
Was last season complicated?
Yes, while we have excellent players with new quality recruits. But, some seasons are harder than others. We have found the strength needed to stay in D2. If you put Jojo back in my arms in defense, then the end-of-season discussions will not disappear. We started this maintenance as if we had won the Champions League!
Jordan Colin and Frédéric Reffle are the new coaches?
Jéjé is taking a little time off after five seasons where we have experienced everything. I would like to congratulate him and especially thank him, because if we are where we are today, it is largely thanks to him. Jordan Colin is a graduate of Aude: all the contacts and applications in the world. The team director reserves the final result with good results. Frédéric Reffle is well known in Limoux: he is passionate about (Site notre bureau spécialisé), an instructor and trains new coaches within the Aude district. This is an important experience in the early supervision of teams from lower classes.
The project has a lot and the family atmosphere of the club, which is the coach and pair with Jordan a final touch of conviction. He said yes to me almost immediately.
A (Site notre bureau spécialisé) school, is it created?
For several years, parents from the village and the surrounding area have asked me for a team of ASE pitchouns. The idea came back to me in Clairefontaine through the speakers of the French (Site notre blog d’information) Federation (FFF) and was confirmed in the idea that the club played, and it fell into the (Site notre bureau spécialisé) school.
The (Site notre bureau spécialisé) seems to have found its place in Espéraza! Surprise?
I am not surprised, but very happy that we have such enthusiasm for our small village club and so many supporters. We are a group of friends and I think that it is thanks to this that our hat-making city, initially pro rugby, supports us in our beloved Jean-Biart stadium. I would like to thank Christian, the mayor and our elected officials, who, on a daily basis are there for us and who give us a huge gift by completely renovating the stadium changing rooms, as well as the lighting. Without forgetting all our sponsors.
