Councilor Volker Struth does not believe that Niklas Süle has reached the final stage of his professional career and that he will resign in a few months. “Unlikely,” the 59-year-old Sports360 agency boss replied in the “Bild” podcast “Phrasenmäher” to a corresponding question. 30-year-old central defender Süle will most likely leave Borussia Dortmund when his four-year contract expires this summer. The former national player, currently injured again, has made only ten appearances in 579 minutes this season.

« Make no mistake: it was all a bit chaotic last year in particular. Niki has long had a reputation for not being a model professional – even though he has won many titles and played some great matches during his career, » Struth said. Süle’s market value was still 60 million euros in 2019, but his valuation has now gradually fallen to 5 million euros. Last season, the Frankfurt native was in action 25 times for over 1,739 minutes.

« For me, he remains the best German central defender in terms of potential. I think he has made it his mission to enjoy (Site notre bureau spécialisé) again and not end his career like that, » said agent Struth. Süle’s resume includes 49 international matches, including appearances at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. The veteran has played 297 Bundesliga matches for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, FC Bayern and BVB with 16 goals and twelve assists.

Struth on angry Riether: he wanted to leave Wolfsburg because of Magath

Among Struth’s clients once was Sascha Riether, who played 249 times in the German upper house for VfL Wolfsburg, SC Freiburg, 1. FC Köln and FC Schalke 04 and sensationally celebrated the championship with Wolves under Felix Magath in 2009. The now 42-year-old was apparently not entirely happy under the guidance of the successful coach. The harshest thing a player ever said to Struth came from Riether.

« ‘You’re lying with your big ass by the pool while I’m being dragged up and down the hill!’ “It was Sascha Riether, who was training under Felix Magath in Wolfsburg at the time and really wanted to leave,” recalls Struth. “He said, ‘He’s dragging me and crushing me and dragging me here. You have to get me out of here.’ » In July 2011, after 86 appearances under Magath, the professional joined 1. FC Köln for a fee of 2.8 million euros. The two-time German international ended his career in 2019.
