FC Barcelona wins thanks to Lewandowski: last push against Celta Vigo

Lewandowski with a double

Former Bayern professionals Robert Lewandowski and João Cancelo transformed FC Barcelona’s almost losing match against Celta Vigo with their late goals. Thanks to goals from Lewandowski (81st/85th minute) and Cancelo (89th), the Catalans won on Saturday against the outsiders 3-2 (0-1) after being down 2-0.

Barcelona has currently taken the lead in the La Liga standings. The team led by national team captain Ilkay Gündogan is one point ahead of Real Madrid and is tied on points with Girona FC. However, the Spanish champions can regain the advantage on Sunday with a victory in Madrid’s duel against Atlético.

The Norwegian Jørgen Strand Larsen (19th) gave the guests the advantage, the national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen had no chance. The Greek Anastasios Douvikas (76th) then gave the advantage, although reassuring. Then came Lewandowski: the former Bayern striker equalized with his brace before Cancelo scored the winner.
